The 网曝吃瓜 Department of Music proudly announces a memorial concert dedicated to the late William Francis Montgomery, affectionately known as Bill. The concert will take place on April 5, 2025, at 7:30 PM in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall at the Stephens Performing Arts Center, a gathering meant to celebrate Bill's extraordinary talent and love for music. 

Bill Montgomery, a distinguished music professor and cherished member of the 网曝吃瓜 community, passed away on August 11, 2024, at the age of 41. A passionate musician from a young age, Bill made significant contributions to the field, earning degrees in piano performance and music composition from 网曝吃瓜, the University of Nevada, Reno, and Louisiana State University. His innovative compositions resonated with audiences both locally and globally, leaving an enduring legacy through his artistry. 

The concert will feature performances by 网曝吃瓜 music faculty and students, showcasing a diverse selection of works composed by Montgomery. This heartfelt tribute aims to honor his musical gifts and his profound impact on his students, colleagues, and the broader community. 

Following the concert, attendees are invited to join a reception in the Rotunda. This will provide an opportunity for guests to share memories and celebrate Bill's incredible contributions to music and education. His spirit and legacy live on through his loving family, students, and the community he cherished. 

“This is a bittersweet occasion for our department,” said Shandra Helman, 网曝吃瓜 Department of Music Chair. “Many of us first knew Bill as an 网曝吃瓜 music student, followed his path through graduate school, and were later reunited as friends and colleagues when he joined 网曝吃瓜’s faculty as an adjunct instructor. To know Bill was to love him; we are especially honored to be performing a varied program of his works in his memory.” 

This memorial concert is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to join in honoring a remarkable individual whose influence on music education will be felt for generations to come.
