网曝吃瓜

网曝吃瓜 Associate Dean and Professor in the 网曝吃瓜 College of Arts and Letters, Dr. Michele Brumley, has been named 网曝吃瓜’s Associate Vice President for Research and Economic Development. 

Dr. Brumley will direct internal strategy related to 网曝吃瓜’s research innovation efforts, including collaborative research investments with the Idaho Higher Education Research Council (HERC) and 网曝吃瓜 Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES). She will provide administrative oversight to 网曝吃瓜’s research institutes and centers, and core research facilities.

“I'm delighted that Michele is joining the 网曝吃瓜 research leadership team. She comes with a great deal of research and college leadership experience, and strong long-time partnerships at 网曝吃瓜 and in higher education across the country,” said 网曝吃瓜 Vice President for Research and Economic Development Martin Blair. 

Brumley joined the 网曝吃瓜 Department of Psychology 16 years ago and has served in several leadership roles at 网曝吃瓜. The last four years she has served as an Associate Dean for the Social and Behavioral Sciences division in the College of Arts and Letters.

“I have maintained a research program and trained students in research at 网曝吃瓜 since 2007. I understand what it is like to conduct research here, and I want to help my colleagues and university do all we can to support and enable research and creative activities” said Brumley. 

Brumley has received research grants from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and other agencies. She is part of the Idaho INBRE network of biomedical researchers, and served for five years as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Developmental Psychobiology. Brumley’s research and teaching have been recognized through receiving the 网曝吃瓜 Distinguished Teacher Award in 2016, and the 网曝吃瓜 Distinguished Researcher Award in 2018. 

“The faculty at 网曝吃瓜 do amazing work, and research and creative activity is a huge part of that. It is important that research thrives at 网曝吃瓜, as it supports our faculty in their professional development and it provides career-advancing opportunities for our students. I am excited to work with the Office for Research team, and I look forward to working with colleagues across the university in this position” said Brumley.

Brumley succeeds Dave Rodgers, who retired in December 2022 after three years in the Associate Vice President for Research role. She begins her appointment starting April 16th.
