The Idaho Museum of Natural History at 网曝吃瓜 will offer fun, educational event opportunities for children and families throughout the summer.

Programs include:

Fun for the Whole Family!

鈥� June 10, 鈥淕eocaching: A Family Affair鈥�

Geocaching class will introduces families to the sport of geocaching. The class starts by learning how to use GPS units, and gives participants a chance to do some geocaching on the 网曝吃瓜 campus. The class is open to children of all ages, who are accompanied by an adult. Class time is from 5 to 7 p.m. and the cost is $10 per family.

鈥� July 2, 鈥淟eave No Trace Camping Ethics Free!鈥�

This free workshop, will teach participants how to reduce their impact while enjoying Idaho鈥檚鈥檚 great natural beauty. It is open to children of all ages who are accompanied by an adult. Class time is from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

鈥� 鈥淛unior Scientist鈥�

Students in the class will go out with real scientists to collect data on everything from Monarch Butterfly habitat and beavers, to bat calls! Is open for children in the fourth-sixth grades. Dates, time and cost of the class will be announced.

Weeklong, Partial-Day Camps

鈥� June 22-25, and June 27-28, 鈥淵oung Sportsman鈥檚 Society鈥� Camping

Students will spend time in the field learning about wildlife conservation and go on a camping trip. The camp is for children in fourth-sixth grade, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. The cost is $125.

鈥� July 13-16, 鈥淢useum Rangers鈥�

Students will learn how to make rock collections, insect collections, and much more working with the IMNH鈥檚 many collections. The camp is for children in the fourth to sixth grade, from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $100.

鈥� July 20-24, 鈥淭he Art of Natural History鈥�

This camp is filled with projects like fish printing, fossil making, beading, and nature journaling. It is for children in the second to fourth grade, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $75.

Single-Day Adventures

鈥� June 24, July 8 and August 12, 鈥淧int-Sized Science Academy鈥�

The academy is designed for preschoolers to teach them about science. It runs from 11 to 11:30 a.m. and the cost is $5.
