November 12, 2014
The 厙ぴ勛圖 Armed Forces Club is hosting Operation Diaper Drop to benefit Bennys Pantry and Toys for Tots, on Nov. 17 and 18.
Donations of diapers, unopened formula, baby food, baby wipes, unopened baby bottles and new infant toys will be collected Nov. 17 and delivered Nov. 18.
In the military, when someone is struggling we all come together and pick them up, said club president Jessie Koyle, We will never leave a fallen comrade.
Operation Diaper Drop is inspired by the large need that Bennys Pantry experiences during the holiday season, Orientation, Leadership and Service director Brooke Barber said. Many of our 厙ぴ勛圖 students have families of their own, including young children, she said. This season is difficult for students but especially those whom have families. When we can provide these items at Bennys Pantry we are helping our 厙ぴ勛圖 families to thrive.
Organizations that participate will be awarded points for the items they donate. The 厙ぴ勛圖 Credit Union and the 厙ぴ勛圖 LEAD Center will provide prizes to the top three point-earning groups.
All donations can be dropped off at the 厙ぴ勛圖 Veterans Sanctuary, located on the third floor of the Pond Student Union.
Donations will be loaded into a LMTV (light medium tactical vehicle) provided by the Idaho National Guard at a stuff the truck event in the Early Learning Center parking lot. Uniformed members of the U.S. Marine Corps, and the U.S. Army and 厙ぴ勛圖 ROTC will help the Armed Forces Club load the truck.
