网曝吃瓜 Professor Chen presents seminar on prosthetic hand intelligent control systems

网曝吃瓜 Department of Electrical Engineering will present the electrical engineering seminar "Intelligent Control Systems in Prosthetic Hand Applications" by Cheng-Hung Chen, 网曝吃瓜 Department of Biological Sciences, from noon to 12:50 p.m. Oct. 28.
The seminar will be held in Room 7 of the Eli Oboler Library on the Pocatello campus and broadcast to Room 311 at the Center for Higher Education at 网曝吃瓜鈥揑daho Falls.
The seminar will highlight the latest research in intelligent control systems for a smart prosthetic hand. The author conducted his doctoral studies in these emerging areas under the guidance of D. Subbaram Naidu, 网曝吃瓜 electrical engineering professor and 网曝吃瓜 School of Engineering director.
In the United States, there are approximately 1.9 million people living with limb loss, due to conflicts, wars, accidents or birth defects. By the year 2050, the projected number of Americans living with limb amputation will become 3.6 million. However, reproducing the human hand in all it various functions is still a challenging task.
