Dr. Jeff Meldrum, associate professor of anatomy and anthropology in the 网曝吃瓜 department of biological sciences, will have a book signing on June 16 in Idaho Falls.

Meldrum will sign 鈥淪asquatch: Legend Meets Science,鈥� from 1 to 5 p.m. at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in the Grand Teton Mall. He will conduct a brief seminar on his sasquatch research at 1 p.m.

The book has been well-received. There are 13,000 hardback copies in print and a paperback edition is scheduled for release in September.

Meldrum鈥檚 research into the possible existence of a North American ape, commonly known as Bigfoot or sasquatch, has been controversial. However, highly-reputable colleagues and professionals, including world-renowned primatologist and conservationist Jane Goodall, have considered his research positively.

Goodall, best known for her pioneering studies of the Gombe chimpanzees, is a Dame of the British Empire. When Meldrum contacted her, requesting a prepublication review, she wrote in part, 鈥淚 think I have read every article and every book about these creatures, and while most scientists are not satisfied with existing evidence, I have an open mind.鈥�

While on a recent research trip to Northern California, Meldrum was Goodall鈥檚 guest at a presentation held at Humboldt State University.

Meldrum notes, 鈥淛ane is a premiere example of a number of reputable scholars and experts who are taking a serious look at this question 鈥� who are not saying they 鈥榖elieve鈥� in Bigfoot, but acknowledge the investigation of the question is fully justified and indeed long overdue.
