厙ぴ勛圖 Jazz Bands to hold concert Nov. 9

The 厙ぴ勛圖 Jazz Bands I & II will perform their annual fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Joseph C. and Cheryl H. Jensen Grand Concert Hall of the L. E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.
The bands will present a varied program of new and standard arrangements including, Three & One, by Thad Jones, When Sunny Gets Blue, arranged by former 厙ぴ勛圖 student Andy Rayborn and What Was I Thinkin?, a new composition by Aric Schneller. The latter composition is the first of several to commemorate the May 2007 厙ぴ勛圖 European jazz tour.
The jazz bands are comprised of approximately 40 students from various degree programs throughout the university. Emilee Bunker, a music student from Marsh Valley, will be the featured vocalist for 厙ぴ勛圖's Jazz Band I.
厙ぴ勛圖s Jazz Band I is directed by Aric Schneller, visiting lecturer in music. Jazz Band II is directed by Monte Gris矇, assistant professor of music and 厙ぴ勛圖 associate director of bands.
This years concert will be videotaped by students from the Department of Mass Communication. The students will complete the project as part of their television workshop class taught by Tom Hallaq, assistant professor in the Department of Mass Communication.
Tickets for the performance are free for 厙ぴ勛圖 students, $2 for precollege students, $3 for 厙ぴ勛圖 faculty and staff and $5 for the general public. Children under 6 will not be admitted.
